Generative writing requests have a variable infrastructure cost. A short grammar rule can run locally or through a lightweight check, while a long advanced rewrite uses more model input, output, validation, and storage. Credits create one visible unit across these operations. The cost table ties the charge to input size and mode instead of hiding usage behind an unexplained limit.
A credit is not a stored dollar balance and cannot be withdrawn as cash. It is a service entitlement governed by its grant type, expiration, and plan rules. The account ledger records where credits came from and how they changed so a user can distinguish welcome credits, subscription grants, purchased packs, reservations, completed charges, releases, and adjustments.
Estimate, reserve, commit, or release
Before a run, the editor counts words and shows an estimate. When the user starts the job, the required credits are reserved so two simultaneous requests cannot spend the same balance. A reservation is not yet a final charge. After the service returns a usable result and records the completion, the reservation is committed. If the job fails, is canceled, or times out before a usable result, the reserved amount is released.
This sequence is designed to make failures auditable. The account history should show the corresponding event rather than leaving the user to infer why a balance changed. A 420-word Fast request costs one credit because it fits within the first 500 input words. A 760-word Fast request costs two credits. Professional mode uses two credits per 500 words, so the same 760-word input costs four credits. The estimate is based on input words; copied output and TXT download do not add another charge after the successful run.
A core rule-based grammar pass can be free within fair-use limits. A generative paraphrase of 900 words uses two credits at one credit per 500 words. A DOCX or PDF export may cost one credit on the Free plan while being included with an eligible paid plan. The interface shows the current rule before the user confirms.
How to control credit use
Remove duplicated or irrelevant sections before submitting a long document, use Fast when a light rewrite is enough, and split unrelated sections so each can receive the right instructions.
